I recently had the opportunity to visit and tour this newly renovated and opened hotel in the tiny town of Hopland. Situated amongst the oak-covered rolling foothills of Northern California, Hopland sits on the west bank of the Russian River and serves as a gateway to the Redwoods of Northern California and the Emerald Triangle. Here you’ll find vineyards, ranches, and farmland alongside wineries, antique shops, and a rich local culture.
While not yet really on everyones radar, this historic landmark building has been completely transformed into a luxury hotel. The original bar, which had been a watering hole from when the railroad first came to town, is a hip and beautifully decorated masterpiece. There is a lovely library room on the ground floor where you will just want to order up a drink and put your feet up with a good book. The sleeping rooms are spacious, the bathrooms gorgeous and there is even a sweet little pool to cool off in after your day of wine tasting.
There are plenty of interesting and fun things to do close by, and several nice little restaurants within walking distance. Put this spot on your radar if you are planning a visit and you won’t be disappointed.
