Secret Sunset Spot

Secret Sunset Spot

We locals have a favorite spot to watch the sunset around here, and it’s magical. Wind you way up Geysers Road, just a quick turn of Route 128, until you get to the highest point in the road. You will see the Hawkeye Ranch gate and near it a beautiful old oak tree. Take a seat under the oak and watch as the sunset unfolds across the Alexander and Dry Creek valleys. Wine optional 🙂

This restaurant uses the freshest ingredients and local meat and organic poultry; I recently tried their Kale Bhaji appetizer (organic kale, ginger onions fritters coated in a chickpea batter), Lamb Saagwala…

A Trip To Jenner and the Sonoma Coast

A Trip To Jenner and the Sonoma Coast

If you find your going to be up in Sonoma County during the next month or so think about a drive down Hwy 116 to the coast to Jenner where the  Russian River meets ocean. The Steelhead are running and you can actually watch the harbor seals catch them right at the mouth of the river.  Lots of bird activity too as small crabs are washed ashore.  The Rivers End Restaurant has a perfect lunch or dinner time view of all…
